The Best Air Fryer Black Friday Deals (2021)

We’re just going to say it outright: We’re not huge fans of air fryers (more on that below). But you’re looking for the best air fryer Black Friday deals 2021 has to offer, so we’ll deliver.

(Skip ahead to the deals.)

At Epicurious, we’ve long been skeptical about air fryers. There’s no such thing, technically, as an air fryer. The name is just really good marketing. The ever-expanding list of kitchen tools on the market that claim to “air fry” (a.k.a. fry food with air and not oil) are really just countertop convection ovens.

It’s true that convection ovens, which circulate hot air within the chamber of your oven, cook foods faster and more evenly than ovens without a convection setting. It’s also true that this air circulation can help give you fantastically crispy-skinned chicken thighs, chickpeas, and potatoes. It is not true that you can make dishes you’d typically deep-fry, like dredged fried chicken, in an air fryer and expect the same results.

So, free yourself of the name! When you begin to think of the air fryer as simply a countertop convection oven (and manage any expectations you might have about it producing “healthy” versions of fried food), it becomes a useful tool. We know several professional bakers who love using the air fryer as a small-batch baking oven. We’ve talked to a cookbook author who thinks that air fryers are a superior tool for cooking crispy roasted vegetables.

If you routinely cook dinner for one or two and want to avoid turning on your oven to save energy (or to keep your kitchen cool in the summer), an air fryer is perfect for you. If you have an unreliable oven in a rental home? The best air fryer is a good work-around. Below, we’ll be keeping track of all the best air fryer Black Friday deals 2021 from a variety of retailers to shop this week—and we’ll keep updating this list through Cyber Monday. (And if you’re more interested in deep-frying, read our guide to the best deep fryers here.)

Philips Premium Airfryer XXL

The best Black Friday deals we can write about are the ones on our product test winners—and this air fryer is our all time favorite model, coming out on top two years running in our review. Yes, we find it pretty annoying that, at regular price, it’s three or four times more expensive than other air fryers. But, sometimes you really do get what you pay for—and today that matters less since you can get the machine for a whopping $100 off.

What’s so great about this particular air fryer? It has a larger capacity than other models. One frustration with air fryers is that, in general, they have incredibly small cooking chambers: this means that, when tasked with cooking a large batch of fries, they tend to churn out some that are limp and floppy and others that are extra crispy, to the point of being nearly burnt. Not so with the Phillips, which cooked a huge batch of fries to golden, crunchy perfection. It’s also great at reheating children’s chicken fingers and roasting crispy chickpeas and veggies, among other things.

The machine also has an easy-to-use digital interface, preheats super quickly, and comes with a great cooking manual that has spot on cooking times and temperatures for various air-fried favorites. This’ll take up some real estate on your countertop, but we think it’s absolutely worth it.

Ninja AF101 Air Fryer

This is one of the many Amazon Black Friday air fryer deals. In our air fryer review and buying guide, our product reviewers found the Ninja AF101 to be the best bang-for-your-buck air fryer they tested. It has a 4-quart capacity, straightforward design, and gave the sweet potato fries they made an “admirably crusty exterior.” It’s currently $20 off its original price at Amazon. (If you’re a fan of Ninja kitchen appliances, there’s a whole host of Ninja Black Friday deals on Amazon.)

Instant Pot Omni Pro Air Fryer and Toaster Oven

Our product testers deemed the Instant Pot Omni Pro the most versatile air fryer and found that it produced the crispiest results. Plus, it has a sleek look with a cool digital touchscreen interface. It’s quite the heavy-duty piece of kitchen machinery (it weighs 26 pounds), but that’s to be expected given that has a ton of cooking functions: It’s also a toaster oven, rotisserie oven, dehydrator, broiler, roaster, and warmer. It’s essentially a mini oven, so if you’re the type of cook who often finds herself which she had more oven space, this is a great air fryer Black Friday deal to take advantage of.

Cosori Air Fryers

Our friends at Bon Appétit used this Cosori Air Fryer to develop air-fryer-specific recipes, like these spiced potato wedge fries. It has a spacious, removable basket that’s nonstick and dishwasher-safe, and has a large enough capacity (5.8 quarts) so you can make more two portions at once. It’s a great air fryer to buy if you’re curious about the trend and want to try your hand at homemade french fries without getting out an actual deep fryer. If you’re looking for something a bit more compact, there’s also a 3.7-quart Cosori discounted for Black Friday at Target.

Cuisinart Airfryer/Convection Toaster Oven

This is a convection toaster oven with an air fryer setting. It’s not trying to do as much as the Instant Omni, but it’s a great option if, say, you’re in the market for a toaster oven and are thinking: Hey, it’d be a big bonus if this thing could air fry as well. And this thing really is an absolute star at air-frying, or, as old-timers might call it, convection cooking. In our test it performed fantastically with most everything: tater tots, sliced zucchini, and sweet potato fries. Everything came out crunchy and golden. Be warned: it’s enormous relative to other air fryers (except for the Instant) and we’d advise measuring to make sure it fits on your countertop.

Breville Smart Oven Air Fryer Pro

Here’s another combo air fry oven from one of our favorite appliance brands. It has a two-speed convection fan, also called “super convection” capability. This means fast and even heat distribution. It also means this toaster oven works as a dehydrator. This model is $100 off for Black Friday.

Other Black Friday Air Fryer Deals

The brand behind everyone’s favorite pressure cooker actually makes a few air fryer models. We haven’t tested this other one, and it offers less versatility than the model above, but it is well reviewed. You can also get an air frying lid for your Instant Pot—again, we haven’t tested this tool, but it’s a great way to avoid buying another huge appliance, and really get the most out of the multi cooker.
