Ahead of Memorial Day weekend and the return of Taste of Cincinnati, the downtown festival is giving diners a preview of some of the participating food trucks.
A select number of food trucks are participating in judging for “Best of Taste of Cincinnati,” which highlights the top menu items from the festival. Pre-determined judges will decide the best items in the categories of appetizer, soup/salad/side, entrée and dessert.

The event is May 16, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Longworth Hall, 700 W. Pete Rose Way. The public is welcome to attend and try the dishes.
Here are the food trucks participating, so far:
- El Chevito.
- Dine-In Hawaiian.
- Sweet Jazz Treats Bakery.
- MamaBear’s Mac.
- Red Sesame Korean BBQ.
- House Café & Catering.
- Texas Joe Tex-Mex.
Any food truck participating in Taste of Cincinnati can enter a dish in the “Best of Taste of Cincinnati” competition, but it is not required.
Taste of Cincinnati will be May 28-30 on Fifth Street, from Main Street to the ramps of 1-71 and Columbia Parkway. More than 30 restaurants and 18 food trucks will be participating in the event celebrating all things Cincinnati cuisine.
