Join mother and daughter team Lyn and Tung Nguyen and their partner Kathy Manning for a celebration of food, family history, entrepreneurship, community and moms.

In this 75-minute class, you will learn how flavorful and simple Vietnamese cooking is as you make nước châ´m, the classic sweet-savory-tart dipping sauce of Vietnamese cuisine and two recipes to go with it: spring rolls and fish with mango-peppercorn sauce.

The latter is the inspiration for their new cookbook “Mango and Peppercorns”(Chronicle, 2021). As they teach, Tung and Lyn will share how these dishes are interwoven with their family’s story, and Tung and Katherine will talk about their partnership as restaurant owners and caterers.

Ready for a challenge? Tung will also demonstrate a more advanced recipe, Pork Rolling Cakes, to inspire you to continue learning after class.

Get yourself a copy of “Mango and Peppercorns: A Memoir of Food, An Unlikely Family and the American Dream” along with your class ticket! Simply select the cookbook add-on when checking out. Insiders, please note that the cookbook is not included at not cost for you. If you choose the book option, you will be charged for the book, but not the cost of class.
