POCATELLO — Like it was yesterday, Steve Piper still remembers the February night in 1961 when he was 13 years old washing dishes at Buddy’s Italian Restaurant in Pocatello.

Wafts of his grandmother’s signature recipes filled the bijou bistro as he relentlessly worked to keep enough clean dishes and silverware in rotation to meet demand. New owners of Eddie’s pizzeria want to ‘go back to basics’ with authentic Italian food

THE new owners of a pizzeria have vowed ‘to go back to basics’ by offering traditional Italian woodfired pizzas.

Gary Perkins and Jamie Evans took over Eddie’s Wood Fired Pizza on Borough Road at the beginning of January.

The pizzeria served traditional pizzas but in recent years moved into Spitfire sports bar but the duo are keen to return to the old ethos of Eddies which was named after Ervardo Salza which opened on 2016.

He was originally from South Italy and inspired the pair to set up the authentic Neapolitan pizzeria.

Italian soccer team president resigns after police find bag filled with $240K of cash in his car

The president of a third-tier Italian soccer club has resigned after police searched his car and found a bag filled with $240,000 of cash.

According to Gazetta, Novara president Marcello Cianci was unable to explain to financial police where he got the money. 

Per the report, a financial group asked the Reggio Calabria police to stop an SUV that Cianci was in. Cianci had “inexplicable nervousness” and that led to police searching his car and finding the food bag filled with €200,000. 

Cianci then resigned from his position with Novara after the incident. He had been with the club
