There is a memory Maria Natale has of when she was younger, and her dad would take her to get a bomboli or sfogliatelle or another Italian pastry from a coffee shop in New Jersey. Even now, decades later, the 38-year-old need simply bite into one of those delectable treats and she is transported to her youth and filled with joy.

Kids can sign up for free cooking, nutrition classes with St. Joe’s Ann Arbor

ANN ARBOR, MI — Hands-on nutrition and cooking classes are available at no charge for anyone age 12 to 14.

St. Joseph Mercy in Ann Arbor has 35 spots open for this Nutrition Buddies Research Program, a four-week virtual course from April to May for kids to explore science, nutrition, agriculture and leadership opportunities. New owners of Eddie’s pizzeria want to ‘go back to basics’ with authentic Italian food

THE new owners of a pizzeria have vowed ‘to go back to basics’ by offering traditional Italian woodfired pizzas.

Gary Perkins and Jamie Evans took over Eddie’s Wood Fired Pizza on Borough Road at the beginning of January.

The pizzeria served traditional pizzas but in recent years moved into Spitfire sports bar but the duo are keen to return to the old ethos of Eddies which was named after Ervardo Salza which opened on 2016.

Opening date revealed for Michigan’s first Portillo’s Chicago-style Italian beef restaurant

STERLING HEIGHTS, MI – After much anticipation, we’ve now learned when Michigan’s first Portillo’s restaurant will open for business. The popular Chicago-style Italian beef eatery plans to open in Sterling Heights on Tuesday, March 16 at 10:30 a.m.
